Andy Carroll happy with strike partner Ameobi
GEORDIE striker Andy Carroll has vowed that there is life after Newcastle United's big-name strikers ahead of tonight's encounter with Sheffield Wednesday.
The likes of Obafemi Martins, Michael Owen and Mark Viduka all arrived at St James's Park with reputations as proven goalscorers - but not one of them could conjure up the goals to maintain United's top-flight status.
The exodus of strikers at United has left Carroll and Saturday's hat-trick hero Shola Ameobi in the firing line for the black and whites and with the Gateshead lad looking for his first strike of the new campaign tonight, he admits that confidence is high after the duo linked up well together.
