Alan Shearer has hopes for return of Joey Barton
ALAN SHEARER is keeping his fingers crossed that Joey Barton will be back in time to play his part in Newcastle United's survival battle with Portsmouth.
The Scouser broke his foot against his old side Manchester City in January when United lost 2-1.
It capped a miserable night for Barton, who endured the boos from fans of his former club, and he has been out of action since.
