Alan Shearer fired up for battle with Stoke City
ALAN SHEARER has revealed that there is no place he would rather be than the technical area at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday night.
Fifteen months ago the Newcastle United manager watched the Magpies' nervy FA Cup third-round tie with then Championship side Stoke from the comfort and warmth of the TV studio.
Back then, Shearer sent a text message to former skipper Bob Moncur in the Press box to tell him how comfortable he was as the Fairs Cup legend gritted his teeth in the cold for Sam Allardyce's last game in charge, which ended 0-0.
