Toon kids gunned down in mini Tyne-Wear derby

NEWCASTLE United reserves were beaten 2-1 tonight at St James's Park by rivals Sunderland with the transfer window ticking towards its closure.

Kevin Keegan - who hopes to capture Spanish striker Xisco and Uraguayan ace Ignacio Gonzalez before the window slams shut - was not in the stands for the mini derby but his coach Terry McDermott kept tabs on the second string.
